Thanks to information from naval intelligence, Units of the Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom - Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2, an operation in the area was carried out and it led to the discovery and liberation of these three people; they had been kidnaped by the Organized Armed Group in the municipality of Jurubirá - in the department of Chocó.
A Coast Guard Unit of the Colombian Navy was transferred to the area, it picked them up and moved them to the municipality of Nuquí, where their health status was verified and they received humanitarian support. Later, they were taken to the municipality of Quibdó, to be put into custody of the authorities.
The judicial authorities investigate the reasons that motivated the kidnapping of these three members of the same family.
