As part of maritime control operations carried out by the Colombian Navy in waters adjacent to the department of Nariño, a ship manned by three individuals was found transporting narcotics to Central America.
Thanks to the work of the Coast Guard Units conducted in the area and with the support of an unmanned aircraft of the Colombian Aerospace Force, it was possible to find and intercept a boat manned by three individuals; two Colombians and an Ecuadorian, who were transporting 35 bags, apparently, with illicit substances. During the procedure, it was found that the boat had engine failures and water entering.
The individuals, the illegal merchandise and the boat, were taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Tumaco, where the judicial authorities carried out the relevant tests, determining that the shipment contained 731 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
In maritime interception, the distribution of almost 2 million doses of narcotics was prevented in the world
This finding prevented more than 24 million dollars from entering the finances of these criminal organizations and prevented approximately two million doses of narcotics from being distributed on the streets of the world.
The three men were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics, for prosecution. Due to the adverse weather conditions in the area, the ship sank during the transfer to the dock.
