As a retaliation to the results of the powerful military operation against the dissidents of the FARC of alias Ivan Mordisco, especially for the commemoration of one year of the death in the framework of operations of alias Capotillo, this criminal structure uses terrorist actions that cause anxiety in the inhabitants.
In the La Cascada sector, at the point where the roads leading to the village of La Herrera connect to the village of Maracaibo and the municipality of Rioblanco, inhabitants of the area reported the finding of a truck that had messages by the Ismael Ruiz front. This message was about the blockage of the road, an action that fueled fear in the region, taking into account that this vehicle could have been loaded with explosives.
This is how soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No. 14, of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 5, of the Sixth Brigade, came to cordon off the area for the respective review and later the entry of the Marte group with the anti-explosive trained dog Basco. There they conducted a thorough review, ruling out that the truck was loaded with explosive devices. However, when the area was cordoned off, 50 meters ahead, thanks to Basco's sense of smell and the expertise of the troops, a gas cylinder with explosives was found, which was destroyed in controlled conditions.
The soldiers of the Sixth Brigade are grateful for the timely and effective filing of denunciations as a legal tool by the inhabitants, which counteracts this type of acts that alter fundamental rights and tranquility of the south of Tolima.
Once again, we reject these terrorist operations by illegal groups against the inhabitants, and we ratify the commitment to safeguard the lives of the Tolima inhabitants.
