Mega-complex of cocaine production of the FARC dissidents dismantled in Nari帽o

More than two tons of cocaine ready to be trafficked were neutralized.

In the course of a river operation, carried out jointly, coordinated and interinstitutional by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, in rural Tumaco, a heavy blow was dealt to the FARC dissident group Western Bloc Alfonso Cano, with the finding and dismantling of an illegal complex used for the production of cocaine.

The arduous naval intelligence work carried out over several days led to the identification of an approximate area of 180 square meters, found on the Mejicano - Tumaco River, where six rudimentary structures were being built in which members of the residual armed group were carrying out narcotic production activities.

With the objective fully identified, troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, attached to the Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules, together with troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, members of the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, were sent in River Units of the Colombian Navy, from Tumaco to the sector where the illegal complex was found.

Upon entering the area, the troops engaged in combat with armed individuals who were inside the structures, and arrested five people, without reporting injuries. During the search, troops found 2,050 kg of cocaine hydrochloride and 500 kilograms of coca, as well as 2,725 gallons of liquid precursors and 720 kg of precursors solids, which include various chemical substances, highly pollutant; it was evident that these residues were being left in the soil and water resources which provide coastal communities of the Pacific region in Nari帽o.

In the same way, weapons, ammunition, military accessories material, as well as equipment and tools used for the production of the narcotic were found by troops.

According to military intelligence information, this complex had the capacity to produce up to 4,000 kilograms of cocaine monthly. With its dismantling the Military dealt a blow by more than 12 billion pesos to the financial structure of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Bloc Alfonso Cano, who commits crimes under the command of alias Allende, responsible for killings, acts of crime and clashes with other structures that commit crimes such as drug trafficking, in Tumaco and its rural area.
