The hand-made explosive device was planted approximately 10 meters away the shore of the Guayabero river.

The Joint Task Force Omega with troops of the National Army and the Navy of Colombia, found and destroyed an improvised 40 kilos-cylinder explosive device, which has 20 kilos of ammonium nitrate and 10 kilograms of metal shrapnel inside, in the village of Los Andes, municipality of Puerto Concordia, department of Meta.

The operation was carried out thanks to intelligence information provided by the Colombian Navy, that allowed the troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 7 to reach the place where the device was located, which was allegedly installed by members of a Organized Armed Group.

According to information provided by the Explosives and Demining Company No.3, this explosive device would have a damage radius of about 200 meters and a lethal radius of about 50 meters.
