After a successful operation against drug trafficking and the illegal use of airstrips, the Colombian Air Force, in a joint, coordinated and interagency manner with the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, managed to identify and strike a runway in the department of Arauca, in which drug trafficking activities were allegedly carried out, due to its proximity to the Venezuelan border.
In the course of the operation and from aircraft of the Colombian Air Force, it was possible to identify and destroy this runway, which had not been registered in the Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics; this operation damages the finances and logistics of the Organized Armed Group residual structure 10 Mart铆n Villa.
This overwhelming result on the part of the Military Forces and National Police weakens the operations of criminal groups that intend to make illegal use of the aeronautical infrastructure near the country's border lines, preventing them from expanding their activities on unreported landing fields.
