The National Army through the Battalion of Engineers No.13 'General Antonio Baraya', in compliance with the 'Bicentenario Plan', build the first 8 kilometers of the Planadas - Gaitania highway, that positively impacted the economic and social development of more than 65 thousand inhabitants of southern Tolima who benefit of these stabilization and consolidation works.
In the three years of the project, more than 6 companies of soldiers of the Baraya Battalion have contributed their valuable effort and commitment to make the paving of these kilometers of road a reality.
Currently, the soldiers of the companies Barreno, Fulminante and Cobalto are committed to the completion of the project, organized in seven fronts of work. In addition, they are responsible for providing the safety by adopting an operation that guarantees the good physical condition of each one of the men who is on the road.
