The pressure exerted by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Valle del Cauca, which reacted quickly and in a timely manner, led to the released today of two foreigners, safe and sound. The search for the captors continues.

In the framework of operations for freedom and security conducted in Cali, in the last few hours the Military Forces, thanks to the pressure exerted, have obtained the release of two Canadian citizens who had been kidnapped in a hotel in that city last Thursday, November 23.

The units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Valle del Cauca, are alerted of the criminal act and immediately react, and, with the support of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, they initiate the investigative operation with the collection of evidentiary material and indications that would led to establish the escape route that the criminals would have taken with their victims.

Parallel to this judicial operation, operations with a Padlock Plan, checkpoints and operations of institutional presence were deployed on nearby areas in order to close the transit to the fugitives.

Thanks to this and the prompt and quick reaction, the two Canadian citizens, each 28 years old, were released in the center of Cali.

The members of the Military Forces of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Valle del Cauca, accompanied by the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, immediately proceeded to transfer them to a safe place where, in accordance with established protocols to provide support for this kind of situation, they received medical assistance in order to rule out any problem.

The two released have already contacted with their families and at this time they are resuming their personal activities.

The Military Forces, with the support of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, continue in the search for the captors who fled the area trying to evade the operation of the authorities who are after the clues that led to find the individuals and thus arrest them so that they respond to justice for the crime perpetrated.
