During a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Technical Investigation Unit CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General office, it was possible to capture in the municipality of Arauquita, Arauca, José Donaldo Mendoza, also known as Martín or Mono Milton, accused to be the ringleader who controlled finances of the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-R) Subestructura 28 and to extort money from the ranchers in Casanare.
Alias Martin, who was wanted by the Attorney office No.22 of Yopal, Casanare, for the crimes of aggravated extortion and conspiracy, was captured in the village La Esmeralda in the municipality of Arauquita, Arauca, along with his girl partner, who was illegally carrying a firearm. These individuals were immediately transferred to the city of Yopal, Casanare, where they were put into custody of the competent authorities. In the course of the operation, a Pietro Beretta pistol with 17 cartridges was seized.
