Through a successful operation to counter environmental crimes in the southwest of the country, the Colombian Air Force in conjunction with the National Army, the Navy of Colombia, and in coordination with the National Police, troops achieve the finding of four illegal mines in different sectors of the department of Nari帽o, belonging to of the residual Organised Armed Group, GAO-r, Oliver Sinisterra, which made gold mining illegally.

Mag眉i Pay谩n, Roberto Pay谩n and Barbacoas, were the municipalities where the residual organization carried out the illegal activity, using heavy machinery, which generated large-scale and irreversible damage to water sources and other natural resources in the area.

In the places, six excavator-type machines were destroyed in controlled conditions, valued at more than 2 billion pesos; the decisive intervention of the authorities, hits the groups that exercise this modality of mining excavation and that in turn finance other factors of instability.

This result reaffirms the institutional commitment of the Colombian Air Force to work together and coordinately in favor of the protection of the environment, within the framework of its mission policies and objectives.
