The man known as alias El Mono was in the municipality of Melgar, when he was intercepted by the authorities.
Troops of the Airborne Infantry Battalion no.28 Colombia, attached to the Thirteenth Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the Air Combat Command no.4 of the Colombian Air Force, the SIJIN (judicial police) and the National Police, arrested one of the Most Wanted Criminals of the Department of Cundinamarca, known as El Mono.
The arrest for the crime of homicide was made in the neighborhood Centro of the municipality of Melgar, Department of Tolima, thanks to military intelligence work carried out during the last months. The man was required by the Municipal Court of Pandi, by order issued on October 2020, for events occurred in Fusagasugá. Since then he was listed in the seventh place of the most wanted according to the notice issued by the National Police.
Alias El Mono was put into custody of the authorities thanks to the work carried out by the National Army with all the authorities to ensure security conditions in the center of the country.
