Military Forces units arrested alias Pereita through a search in the urban area of Pizarro, in the department of Nariño, ending a criminal experience of more than seven years in the service of different criminal groups in this region of the country.
This individual is allegedly responsible for directing the materialization of selective homicides, the collection of money from extortions absent the trade sector; he also led armed confrontations against other criminal groups for the control of illicit activities in the area, as well as being responsible for generating forced displacement and confinement in the vulnerable inhabitants accentuated in this region of the country.
This individual would have been in charge of criminal activities in the region after the arrests of alias Casillas and alias Henry in January of this year and he would be trying to obtain information on the operations carried out by the security forces in the area to evade his arrest.
With this result troops hit this Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, on the Pacific coast of Colombia, as well as their intentions of expansion. In the same way troops hit its capacity of coercion towards the civilians, troops also protect children, young people and adolescents, members of indigenous communities and afro-descendants, which are recruited illegally and exploited by this gang.
