Alias Caiman, who would be the third ringleader of the Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, was arrested in the municipality of Riosucio, Department of Chocó, thanks to military operations in the area.
With the participation of aircraft of the Colombian Air Force, in a joint and coordinated manner with the Army and the National Police, and interagency with the Attorney General's Office, the armed, logistical and financial capacity of this criminal substructure has been damaged.
The man was recognized as a target within the framework of the Timely Action Plan-PAO in spanish, ordered by the National Government, for having committed acts that harmed the peace process, social leaders and human rights defenders, under the alleged crimes of homicide aggravated and forced disappearance, he was given to the authorities for his respective prosecution.
In the same department, municipality of Carmen del Darién, another important result was obtained, dismantling the Central Communications of the same substructure, where materials such as communications antennas, radios, cable for signal transmission, among other elements that served to the illegal organization, were found; in addition four men, allegedly belonging to the GAO in mention, were arrested.
