Military Forces build school in Tumaco, the capital city of the department of Nariño

Inhabitants of the neighborhood “Familias en Accion” of the municipality of Tumaco, will benefit of the construction of an education center.

 

This municipality, in the department of Nariño, known as 'La Perla del Pacífico', has been categorized as a priority area for the National Government, which requires special assistance in matters of education and early childhood. Under this guidance, the men of the Task Force 'Hercules' with the support of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.3, work in coordination with the municipal mayor's office and the community of the sector to benefit the children of the region.

 

The construction work began with the dismantling of the structure of the previous school that was in poor conditions. After that, the construction of a new school that will improve the study conditions of the children will be initiated; it is expected the decrease of dropout rates as well as the daily attendance of the children.

 

"I am in the neighborhood Familias en Accion, working on the construction of the school to improve the lives of children in this neighborhood and any other part of the municipality, they are welcome," said Luz Alba Cortés Castillo, vice president of the Community action Board.

 

For his part, First Corporal John Puentes Reyes, of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.3, said: "We are working with the support of the entire population, building this school for the improvement of the education of children."
