Military Forces in compliance with Plan 30 for Cauca achieves a decisive heavy blow against the GAO-R “Dagoberto Ramos”

In compliance with the Plan 30 for Cauca, joint, coordinated and inter-National Army troops, the Air Force, the Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the office of the Prosecutor, dealt a heavy blow against the armed, logistics, and finance structures of the illegal residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure, Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz who commits crimes in the north of Cauca.

 

The operation was carried out in the area of the municipalities of Miranda, Corinto, Caloto, Santander De Quilichao and Toribío. By air and land the soldiers reached the places where the GAO tried to hide of the authorities.

 

In the event, 10 alleged members of this GAO-r, including alias Sarria and El Invalido, were arrested. The first is accused of being one of the perpetrators of the car bomb exploded last March 26, 2021, in the urban area of Corinto, Cauca.

 

The second would have a valid arrest warrant for the crime of aggravated extortion and would be the brother of the second head of that structure, alias Maicol. Similarly, troops report the death of alias Camisa, who was accused of being responsible for multiple selective homicides in that area of the Cauca department; he was killed in military operations.

 

During the military operation, about 500 kilograms of marijuana, 300 kilograms of explosives, 3 handcrafted Rockets, 5 explosive devices, military equipment were found and troops recovered 5 vehicles that were identified as stolen, two of which were equipped to carry out terrorist operations.

 

Among the confiscated items there were several receipts with the acronym Farc-EP, which were used by terrorists to pressure and intimidate merchants in the area for the payment of extortions.

 

Likewise, two men died during military operations, after combats in the rural area of northern Cauca.

 

Those arrested and the materials were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution process. In the same way, the explosives were neutralized in controlled conditions.

 

During the 30 days of the strategic plan for the department of Cauca, troop have obtained the arrest of 40 individuals, 6 demobilizations and 16 deaths in military operations, which impacts heavy the organized armed groups who commit crimes in the region, groups that were the cause of selective killings, particularly against social leaders and terrorist operations that impair daily life and the productive life of the region.

 

In the area, military operations continue with the aim of further weakening the various organized armed groups and factors of instability, in order to guarantee the security and tranquility of its inhabitants.
