The Military Forces and the National Police in the department of Antioquia made possible the capture of 15 members of the 'Clan del Golfo', damaging the armed capacity of this organized armed group, several of them belonging to the so called Western substructure.
With the participation of the Colombian Air Force, the Army and the National Police along with the Prosecutor's Office, operations were carried out to capture these men who are accused of crimes such as conspiracy to commit a crime and aggravated homicide, among others.
With aircrafts and intelligence of the Air Combat Command No. 5 and thanks to the joint and coordinated work, it was possible to capture these individuals in the municipality of Peque, among them alias 'Cabeza Cortada', 'Care Mapa', 'Loco', 'Zarco' and alias 'El Mono', the latter had spent six years in the criminal structure under the command of alias 'Barbas' and was recognized as his right hand.
