Through this finding, the circulation of more than 180 thousand doses of narcotic drugs was prevented.
The Colombian Navy through the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 30, jointly with Colombian National Army, reported the finding of 1,088 kilograms of creppy-type marijuana in the town El Encanto – department of Amazonas.
Thanks to intelligence information provided by the Amazonas Information Fusion Center and with intelligence support from Colombian National Army, on August 21, a rudimentary arawana-type boat was found, which was sailing along the Putumayo River. Upon noticing the troops, the crew members fled, leaving the boat abandoned loaded with more than 1,000 rectangular packages, each weighing approximately one kilogram, which apparently contained creepy-type marijuana allegedly belonging to the Residual Organized Armed Group -GAOr - Structure Comandos de Frontera.
According to intelligence information, this shipment would be destined for drug trafficking groups in Brazil, with the purpose of strengthening their illegal finances through transnational drug trafficking. The illegal merchandise would cost about 5.5 million dollars in the international illicit market.
Through this operation, it was possible to prevent the distribution of more than 180 thousand doses of marijuana, which represents a significant damage to illicit activities, and is good for the health system and regional security. The judicial activities were carried out with the intervention of the Judicial Police authorities of the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE), making the material available to the Attorney General's Office.
