Two persons who are said to be members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, were arrested by Colombian Navy troops and units of the National Police, in carrying out operations against drug trafficking in the urban area of the municipality of San Pedro, Sucre.
The authorities, in compliance with a search warrant for a house in the urban area of this Sucre municipality, were able to arrest these two people who were found with hallucinogenic substances that they allegedly intended to commercialize in the region.
Those arrested were reportedly part of the Manuel José Gaitán substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in the Montes de María subregion, the Gulf of Morrosquillo and the Sabana sucreña.
In addition, in a coordinated operation it was possible to arrest alias Toñito in flagrante delicto, in rural zone of Sincelejo, who allegedly was a member of a Common Organized Crime Group, and had in his possession more than a thousand grams of marijuana, cash, a cell phone and a motorcycle.
The persons arrested and the material found were put into custody of the Office of the Attorney-General of the Nation and will have to answer for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying of narcotics.
