cogfm-fuerza-aerea-lucha-contra-mineria-ilegal-antioquia-25.jpg

As a result of a joint, coordinated and interagency operation involving the Colombian Air Force, Army, Navy and National Police, as well as the Attorney General's office, two individuals were caught in flagrante delicto for the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits.

This mission was carried out in the village of El Jardín, Municipality of Cáceres, in compliance with the Bicentenary Operations Plan Heroes de la Libertad, intervening two mining production units that were at the service of the organized armed group, GAO, Caparros.

In the same way, five excavators, a dredge and an engine, used for   illegal activity, were found and made unusable, thus damaging the finances of this GAO in approximately 6.700 million pesos and reducing the environmental impact in an area of 156 hectares surrounding the Cauca river.

The Colombian Air Force permanently participates in this type of operations that helps protect and defend natural resources throughout the Colombian territory, contributing to the reduction of the problem of illegal mining that causes irreparable damage to the environment.
