This material would apparently belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc.
In 2025, the Amazonas Naval Force has found and destroyed 2,201 explosive devices in its area of responsibility.
Within the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho Plus, within the framework of a joint and inter–institutional operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, Colombian National Army and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find and destroy an illegal hideout with 71 explosive devices, allegedly belonging to the Residual Organized Armed Group -GAO–r, Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc - Iván Díaz Structure, in the rural area of Santana Ramos village, municipality of Puerto Rico, department of Caquetá.
Thanks to information provided by the information Fusion Center of the Amazonas region, troops of the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, found the illegal hiding place and, with expert personnel of the Explosives and Demining Group -EXDE-, the controlled destruction of the material was carried out.
According to preliminary investigations, these devices would be used to indiscriminately attack the inhabitants, the Military Forces and the constructions of the region. Its destruction represents a powerful damage to illegal structures, in addition, it prevented hundreds of Caquetan families from being victims of terrorist violence.
So far this year, the Amazonas Naval Force has found and destroyed 2,201 explosive devices in its area of responsibility, which includes the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta and Putumayo, reaffirming its commitment to the security of the inhabitants of the Colombian southeast.
The Colombian Navy will continue to carry out joint and coordinated operations that neutralize the intentions of illegal armed groups and ensure the tranquility of the communities.
