Troops of the National Army, in military operations deployed simultaneously against crime factors in the department of Chocó, with support of the National Navy, the Colombian Air Force, the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, and following the recommendations of the agencies of control, achieve the death in military operations of a member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln, and another of the 'Clan del Golfo'. They also captured another individual of the same structure.
In the first operation against the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the municipality of Bocas de Luis, municipality of Medio Baudó, information was received from the Civic Participation Network, about the presence of members of the GAO Clan del Golfo in the zone. Immediately an operation was organized for their search and discovery, which resulted in the death in military operations of an individual; it was also possible to capture another member of the Heroes de Jesus Carretera substructure. On the site troops found three rifles, two guns, a revolver, more than 1,000 cartridges of different calibers, military garments and communications.
In the second operation carried out in the municipality of Copoma, Litoral de San Juan, Army troops are fighting against the ‘Ernesto Che Guevara’ front of GAO Eln, which resulted in the death in military operations of one of its members.
This result heavily hits the criminal structures of the GAO Eln and the GAO Clan del Golfo that commit crimes in the department of Chocó.
