According to the first reports, the criminals planned to manufacture the devices to attack military bases, police stations and strategic assets such as power towers, petroleum wells and pipelines.
Within the framework of territorial control operations and institutional presence, framed within the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan -Tiempo 2 - the Military Forces found an illegal hiding place, in which criminals of the so-called Comandos de Frontera of the Second Marquetalia of the FARC dissidents, were hiding material to manufacture explosive devices to be used and launched from drones.
According to the first information, troops of Colombian National Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Police, arrived in the rural area of the municipality of Puerto Guzmán, an area bordering the department of Putumayo. There the criminals planned to hide more than a thousand electric detonators, about 20 kilos of high destructive explosives, four kilos of initiators for drone grenades, one kilo of shrapnel and more than 430 units of ammunition of different calibers.
As it has been established, the criminal structure was going to use these elements to manufacture devices to be suitable, planted and launched from drones. The terrorist intentions ranged from attacking police stations, military bases, to petroleum wells, pipelines, energy towers among other strategic assets of the nation.
With this material, the so-called Comandos de Frontera of the Second Marquetalia of the FARC dissidents could manufacture at least 100 explosive devices, so this result of the military operation becomes an important damage to the logistical and criminal structures of that illegal group. In addition, it prevents the carrying out of terrorist operations that disturb civilians, as well as the social and economic development of this region of the south of the country.
Information collected through military intelligence, that illegal structure would have hidden these elements in that area due to the heavy operation of the military forces, which in the last week have already neutralized the threat of two illegal hiding places with explosives (651 in Mocoa and 197 in Piedmont, Cauca), they would use them in terrorist operations against civilians, the Military Forces and the constructions of the State.
