The children of a village in Roberto Payán, Nariño, feared for their lives, since this is the only space that meets the conditions to study in the region.

In the midst of territorial control operations conducted by the Military Forces in the Nariño Pacific region, troops neutralized the threat of five explosive devices, which had been planted by criminals a few meters from a school in a rural area of the municipality of Roberto Payán, Nariño.

The incident, which represents a serious violation of International Humanitarian Law, occurred in the village of Fatima Carmen, where the anti-explosive technicians of the Hercules Joint Task Force arrived to destroy these dangerous elements that members of the residual organized armed group Western Bloc Alfonso Cano, had planted very close to where approximately 50 children, who live in the region, receive classes every day.

In the same way, the path that was usually taken by all the children to get to the educational center for extracurricular activities, had not been used again for fear that these deadly traps would turn the children and teachers into victims.

It should be noted that, the anti-explosive technicians and the different civil authorities, evacuate the inhabitants of the sector to proceed to the controlled destruction of the explosive devices, and thus safeguard the good physical condition of the civilians who could be hit by the shock wave.
