During 2021 and 2022 the neutralization of more than 130 members of the Organized Armed Groups, GAO, Clan del Golfo and ELN, as well as the finding of 44 tons of illicit drugs, valued at more than one billion dollars, has been achieved.

With the permanent work of Navy Infantry Units of the Colombian Navy and troops of the National Army, with support of the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it is possible to get the security conditions for the ethnic communities settled on the banks of the San Juan River, as well as the protection of their human and ancestral rights, to deny spaces to the criminal organizations that confront each other for the control of the illicit activities of the region which also hit the security and tranquility of the indigenous and Afro-descendant inhabitants of the area.

To this end, the Colombian Navy has a conducted a Checkpoint and a Mobile Patrol Base in Docordó and Pichimá Playa respectively, in the same way, a Heavy River Combat Element, a Fast-Patrol River unit and a Heavy River Support Patrol Ship are sent, whose mission is to control this river artery.
