In recent days troops of Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Santander have achieved, in two decisive operations, the finding of four citizens who were deceived under the modality of false Service and by whom their kidnappers demanded large sums of money in exchange for their supposed release.
In the first tactical mission carried out on May 7, The Intelligence Unit in Bucaramanga received information from the family of Mr. Gerardo Rodr铆guez and Mr. Fabi谩n Osorio, who denounced that they are receiving extortive calls in which men requested six million pesos in exchange for the release of those mentioned above, who went for an appointment.
The requested service was the sale of two dogs that would allegedly be given to buyers in the municipality of El Play贸n. The company of Mr. Rodr铆guez and Mr. Osorio was recognized in the city of Bucaramanga.
Immediately the Special Unit of Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) deployed the intelligence unit where they had had contact for the last time, carried out patrols and through the cellular signal, they find the victims. It should be noted that it was in record time since the denunciation was received at 5 p.m and at 7: 30 at night they were already free.
The second operation was carried out on May 10 in the village of El Diamante in the municipality of Sabana De Torres, where Line 147 is alerted on a possible kidnapping of Mr. Orlando Villamizar Hern谩ndez and Mr. Jos茅 del Carmen Fl贸rez Mart铆nez, owners of a carpentry shop in the municipality of Gir贸n.
Those mentioned above were contacted through WhatsApp requesting a supposed carpentry service in a farm in the municipality El Diamante. Once the victims arrive in the sector, their relatives begin to receive threatening and intimidating calls demanding eight million pesos for freedom.
Thus, both the Grpup Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Santander and the National Police activated the civic participation network, deployed troops and assisted the families to find the victims, in the same way in a time of two and a half hours.
It should be noted that in both cases the method was through a telephone call in which they requested a service. What service people do not know is that the calls are made at the prisons and when they confirm information, the criminals asked for the contact number of a relative stating, just in case, for the procedure for the money payment letter.
Once the workers move to conduct the service, in these two cases to sell the dogs and take carpentry to a farm, they are summoned in places where there is no coverage and that are far from the city, thus being totally isolated, which gives the criminals time to call their relatives and demand sums of money in exchange for not attacking their victims.
In this modality the victims do not have physical contact with the criminals, everything is through the telephone and the calls are quite intimidating in which they indicate to the relatives that they are being targeted and will hurt them.
Thus, the military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) accompany the families all the time so that they do not rush out to register, since this type of false Service is one of the most used in times of pandemic, so all small business owners are advised not to provide any number of relatives and first verify the coverage of the place where they are summoned.
