The continuous information on the presence of armed individuals, who identify themselves as members of a Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, and would be intimidating and extorting inhabitants of the rural area in the south of the department of Huila, led the Ninth Brigade through the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Huila and its CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) component in a joint effort with troops of Infantry Battalion No. 27 'Magdalena', to launch an operation that resulted in the arrest of alias 'Poto'.
This is a 17 years old minor apprehended for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing, carrying or possession of firearms, after being found with a 9-millimeter submachinegun Lunger USA brand with a magazine and 23 cartridges for it.
The operation that had the support of the Judicial Police of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of Pitalito, was reported in the rural area of the south of Huila; there, in addition to the finding of the firearm, troops confiscated a long-sleeved black sweater, olive green trousers and three different cell phones that were apparently used by the group in extortions.
In the same way, the authorities investigate the participation of this illegal structure, which presumably the minor could be part of, in the homicide, last December 13, of Cristián Camilo Cáceres Losada, 26.
