The victim made the denunciation in 2023, when she exposed what was happening at the hands of the foreign citizen.
Thanks to the work carried out by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Antioquia, with the support of the Gaula of Antioquia Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), for the safety and freedom of the inhabitants of the department of Antioquia, it was possible to arrest a Canadian citizen in an exclusive area of the city of Medellín for the crimes of kidnapping and torture.
The judicial operation occurred thanks to the denunciation of the victim in 2023, who stated that this foreign citizen had beaten her and held her where he was staying and where she had gone to do the cleaning work.
The intelligence components and the military operation of the Military Gaula Antioquia, having received the judicial order, began the work to find the whereabouts of the foreigner.
In this way, they find him in a restaurant in the city of Medellín, and there they proceed to comply with the judicial order so that he must face charges for the actions for which he is accused.
The Canadian citizen will have to face the Colombian justice for the alleged crimes of aggravated kidnapping, torture and aggravated qualified theft, the Judge decided a measure of deprivation of liberty in a penitentiary institution.
The Military Gaula Antioquia, fulfilling its constitutional mission, will continue to be present to deal with the crimes of kidnapping and extortion, and take care of the heritage and freedom of the inhabitants of the Eternal Spring city.
