Through operations in different departments of the country, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) strengthen their fight against kidnapping and extortion by weakening criminal structures and finding war material.
Thus, through the tactical missions they have managed that people stopped paying in the month of June 2021, for the crime of extortion, COP$ 82,500,000.
The Buenaventura Military Gaula in coordinated work with the Gaula of the Police during the last week carried out three operations in which the arrest of two members of the Organized Gang La Local, substructure Los Espartanos, whose members, alias Robertico, in charge of kidnappings and the collection of money extorted from different productive groups, selective homicides and microtrafficking. At the time of the arrest, a Smith & Wesson brand revolver, caliber 32 L, without serial, and six cartridges for revolver caliber 32 were seized.
In the same way, in the Cinco locality of Buenaventura, alias Chacorta was arrested in flagrante delicto at the time when he intended to receive 300 thousand pesos, money from extortion that would be used to buy ammunition from this criminal structure.
In the third operation and thanks to the pressure of the troops it was possible to obtain the release of a social leader and member of the community council of the Anchicayá River, in the same way by means of a military control maneuver of area, it was possible the finding of an illegal hideout, which contained war material belonging apparently to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Jaime Martínez mobile column structure.
The other arrested, apparently member of common crime, has multiple denunciations for the crime of extortion which, through calls made from prisons in the departments of Meta and Boyacá, extorted their victims under the uncle uncle modality.
Other units that reported results during this week are Antioquia with two arrests; Urabá, two; Putumayo, two; Oriente Antioqueño, two; Ariari, two; Valle, one; Casanare, one; Tumaco, one; Elite Gaula 2, one; Cundinamarca, one; and Risaralda one.
