Within the framework of the Plan of the Ayacucho military operation, soldiers of the Tenth Brigade carried out a successful operation against drug trafficking, in the last few hours found 1000 kilograms of marijuana valued at more than $800,000,000, in the village of El Tablazo, in San Juan del César, Department of La Guajira.
Soldiers of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No. 2, thanks to military intelligence information, identified a suspicious van, which was immediately order to stop; this was ignored and the driver started to escape. After the pressure of the troops, the van was abandoned, and cannabis was found in it.
The material was put into custody of the authorities for the start of the judicial proceedings.
Colombian National Army will continue to combat drug trafficking, a major source of financing for the terrorist activities of organized armed groups. This operation demonstrates the commitment of the Tenth Brigade in the fight against the different factors of instability in the department.
