With military operation Air Force maintains surveillance in Meta National Parks

Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter of the Air Combat Command No.2 of the Colombian Air Force was deployed to fly over two protected natural areas, in the Colombian East so that crews conduct visual review of areas hit by environmental crimes.

The crews continue their intense search by areas hit by the mafias of deforestation and land grabbing, maintaining security in the Serranía de La Macarena National Natural Park and on Caño Cristales, which will soon reopen to tourists.

This reconnaissance and surveillance mission is conducted within the framework of the Artemisa Operation Plan with the aim of combating the criminal operations carried out by armed groups, who destroyed thousands of hectares of forests, extort money of our peasants and kill innocent citizens.

These operations have led to work jointly and interinstitutional with all the Military Forces and environmental authorities to curb any illegal activity that devastates our natural wealth. These operations provide peace of mind to the civilians who live in the Eastern Plains.

Thus, the Colombian Air Force will continue to use all its resources to combat deforestation, illegal mining, land grabbing and any other activity outlaw that puts Colombians and their heritage at risk.
