In military operations two members of the organized armed group Los Pelusos have died

In the framework of the Military and Police Campaign Esparta, troops of the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, in coordination with the National Police, and the support of the Attorney General's Office hit the terrorist capacity of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Los Pelusos, Frente Libardo Mora Toro, in the municipality La Playa de Belén, in the department of Norte de Santander.

 

In this decisive operation, which is part of the operation maintained by the troops of the Thirtieth Brigade and the Rapid Deployment Force No. 3, which seeks to counteract the operations and the terrorist threat of the GAO, the troops engaged firefights, leaving as result the death in military operations of two of the members of this group and the capture of two other members. One of the dead men is alias “Cristian”, leader of the law and order group, with 12 years in the organization and member of the Eliseo Torres Villalba group, who would be responsible for the safety of alias “Condor” or “Richard,” the main ringleader of this structure, responsible for the forced displacement of inhabitants in the hamlets of La Playa de Belén and Abrego, as well as the installation of explosive devices, to attack the inhabitants of this area of ​​the department and the members of the Security forces.

 

The second individual was wounded and despite all the efforts of the combat nurses, the initial medical assistance and being evacuated in one of our Military Aviation aircrafts, in the medical center in the city of Cúcuta, died.

 

Troops confiscated three rifles, a short range weapon, ammunition of different calibers, 27 magazines, two hand grenades and three vests, as well as communication equipment (two radios and four cell phones).

 

The dead people in the operation, the individuals and the material of war and communications are in the hands of the authorities.
