The head of the Defense ordered the immediate transfer to this region of the country of the General Commander of the Military Forces, General Luis Fernando Navarro, and the Army Commander, General Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro, as well as the structuring of a poster with the most wanted people in the lower Cauca region and the rewards for information that leads to their captures.
He in the same way announced the creation of a joint command of the Military Forces and the Police in Bajo Cauca region to confront the criminality of that area of the country. "This command will be led by a General of the Republic, to whom we will give the mission of fighting with all the rigor and firmness against the criminal drug trafficking structures operating in the area," said the Minister.
In addition, he sent a message of tranquility to the population of the area, ensuring that all the military forces have been deployed “to protect the communities. We are already covering all the urban centers of the rural areas with our military forces. People must know that with the presence and accompaniment of our forces they can be calmer ”.
“We are going to fight with all our forces, with the support of the communities, these criminals who want to sow terror in the region. I want to highlight the excellent coordination of our entire Security forces, which will surely improve the results. This was a precise instruction given by President Iván Duque, who was only a few days ago in Caucasia,” he said.
