Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Colombia, 脕lvaro Leyva Dur谩n and Iv谩n Vel谩squez G贸mez, respectively, met in Bogot谩 with their Chilean counterparts, Alberto van Klaveren Stork and Maya Fern谩ndez Allende, on the occasion of the second session of the 2 + 2 Political Coordination and Consultation Mechanism.
During the meeting, the authorities highlighted the celebration of the same as a sign of the richness and solidity of the bilateral relationship, which strengthens the foreign policy and the defense sector, for the benefit of regional governance. In this regard, the Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their willingness to continue working together to achieve peace in Colombia, strengthening their commitment to regional integration, the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 and the fight against climate change, among others.
The defense ministers highlighted the signing of a Letter of Intent on Cooperation in the Satellite Field and related issues, with the aim of improving support and work conducted by the Military Forces in these matters, leading the comprehensive strengthening of relations conducted by the two countries. They in the same way reaffirmed that Chile and Colombia will continue to work on issues of cooperation in space affairs.
