In the frame of the tour of the Ministry of National Defense, the Military and Police Commanders in the departments of Magdalena and Atlántico, Minister of Defense, Pedro Sánchez, led at the facilities of the Air Combat Command No. 3, CACOM 3, in Malambo – department d’Atlántico a security council in order to address issues related to the law and order situation in these departments, accompanied by of the Atlántico Governorate, mayors of some municipalities among other local and regional authorities.
This meeting had as its main subject the strengthening of measures to concentrate operations to face the threats, in addition, guidelines of the current environment of the metropolitan area were evaluated and proposed, to combat crime and other factors of instability that hit the inhabitants.
During the security council, the analysis of the different security strategies was carried out to attack problems such as the activity of organized armed groups in rural and urban areas, as well as progress was made in the security and coexistence policy established by the departmental government to reduce violence in the region.
The authorities confirmed their commitment to work for the protection of citizens, in addition to strengthening social responsibility activities, bringing well-being and progress to the most vulnerable communities.
At the end, the Minister of Defense made all the Military Forces and their resources available for the protection of Colombians, reiterated the duty of soldiers and police officers to provide support in a timely manner to the vulnerable sectors and the civil authorities and the inhabitants of the department of Atlantico.
The Colombian Aerospace Force will continue to work hand in hand with the different national and local authorities to strengthen the security of the inhabitants and visitors of the Caribbean region and the entire national territory.
