The VII Antarctic Air Campaign and XI Scientific Expedition fulfilled two main objectives, the first to arrive directly on the ground using aircraft and crews of the Colombian Aerospace Force, showing the global reach capability, the second the interoperability and the outstanding International Cooperation relations of Colombia with sister countries such as Argentina and Chile.
21,549 kilometers traveled, 14 Colombian researchers, scientists and cargo from other countries such as Argentina, Chile, Spain and Germany, were transported to the bases in Antarctica, all this supported by an aeronautical maintenance logistics team, a thorough planning for several months, to leave the best image of the country, materializing for the seventh time, the arrival of the Antartico, the C-130 Hercules aircraft with registration FAC 1005, on this continent, demonstrating Colombia's work in supporting research for the preservation of the largest freshwater reserve on the planet.
Once again, the members of the Colombian Aerospace Force ratify their commitment to the preservation of the environment in Colombia and the world, strengthening their air resources and international Cooperation ties.
