The Minister of Defense, the Military Forces and the National Police will coordinate with the Government of Sucre the interventions where this strategy will be executed in 68 places of the department.

Reducing high-impact crimes in the department is what the new Coexistence and Security Laboratory is looking for. It is a strategy that was launched for the first time in the department of Sucre and has as its purpose that young people, at risk, have new life opportunities, where they can be promoted economically and socially, through entrepreneurship and employment routes.

This laboratory was presented at the San José Sur School of the Santa Cecilia neighborhood in Sincelejo, with the assistance of leaders, young people, parents, regional and national authorities, benefiting more than 5,400 young people from different municipalities of the department, who now promote their future and Humane Security with a social sense.

“The Ministry of Defense accompanies and celebrates this type of initiatives, within the framework of the concept of Humane Security, where young people, through employability exercises with permanence in the time of education, training, instruction become peace managers, coexistence managers for conflict resolution and at the same time they find a life project, a life plan, that leads them to contribute to the territory, where environments of coexistence, peace and Humane Security are built,” said the Director of Citizen Security of the Ministry of National Defense, Vladimir Rodriguez.

On the other hand, the Sucre Governorate, which is leading the strategy, has brought young people of the department, by the ages of 18 and 28 from people of African descent communities, Raizales, Palenqueras, indigenous people, victims of the armed conflict, in order to empower them financially and socially.

There are 68 strategic places of the department such as San Onofre, Tolú, Coveñas, Palmito, Sampués, Ovejas, San Marcos, La Unión, among others, which are prioritized by the Ministry, after an analysis with the local authorities and the Military Forces, which will be intervened jointly and complementarily with the comprehensive offer of the State and the private sector generating conditions of security, employability and entrepreneurship.
