En Nariño, ubicado y destruido un depósito ilegal con explosivos del GAO residual, E-30 'Rafael Aguilera'

In order to safeguard the lives of the inhabitants, the Colombian Navy carried out a river operation in which it found and dismantled an illegal hideout of explosives and weapons, which apparently belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group, Structure 30, Rafael Aguilera, in the municipality of Olaya Herrera - Nariño.

The Naval Intelligence-guided operation was led by troops of Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 41, who accompanied by of the Explosives and Demining Team - EXDE No. 4. They found the explosives hidden and buried at the site. During the search by the military personnel, 16 grenades, 41 improvised explosive devices, eight kilograms of gunpowder, two means of launching, an M4 rifle, a magazine, 20 cartridges of different calibers and eight identification bracelets of this outlaw group were found by troops.

Later, at the site, the military personnel destroyed the explosives in controlled conditions, which were allegedly to be used for terrorist attacks against the Military Forces.

The Colombian Navy will continue to carry out operations that contribute to the tranquility of the inhabitants of the Colombian South Pacific, countering the illegal groups that commit crimes in the area.
