The pressure of the military operation continues to hit the illicit activities of the residual organized armed groups that intend to use the department of Huila as a route for the transportation of narcotics.
Within the framework of military operations aimed at territorial control, troops of the Light Infantry Battalion No. 26 Cacique Pigoanza and the Light Cavalry Group No. 11, of the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, seized approximately 500 kg of marijuana in the village El Socorro, rural area of the municipality of Nátaga, department of Huila.
The operation was carried out thanks to information obtained through human intelligence, which managed to carry out a detailed planning and deploy military units in order to block the routes used by criminal organizations to transport their illicit elements.
During the mission, the soldiers found an abandoned van, approximately 15 meters of the road that connects the municipality of Nátaga with the I-24 route.
When carrying out the search of the car and the surrounding area, several packages were found by troops containing a substance with characteristics similar to marijuana, with a gross weight of approximately 500 kilograms.
According to preliminary information, the illicit merchandise would belong to the Isaías Pardo Central Bloc, Ismael Ruiz Structure, and would have an estimated cost of 650 million pesos in the illegal market. This result in the same way affects the commercialization of about a million doses, preventing them from reaching the streets and contributing to the financial strengthening of this criminal structure.
The permanent activity of the Military Forces in different strategic points of the department of Huila has generated constant pressure on illegal organizations, forcing them to modify their routes and look for new routes to try to transport their shipments.
Military operations continue to close these mobility spaces, hitting their logistical resources and directly hitting their funding sources.
