4_0.jpeg

National Army through the Twelfth Brigade and the Support Command of Comprehensive Action and Development with its Comprehensive Action Battalion No. 6 in coordination with the Surcolombian Polytechnic and the Secretariat of Environment of Florencia, carried out a clean-up activity and maintenance to the Municipal Animal shelter, which currently serves as a shelter for 22 dogs, 15 cats and an horse rescued from the streets of the city.

The activity began with the donation of four 10-meter fence rolls and 15 base tubes for the adaptation of dogs and cats spaces in which the recovered animals are sheltered.

The objective of this activity for which the students of Veterinary of the Polytechnic Surcolombiano donated painting and implements to improve the site that had not been intervened for two years (when it was inaugurated) is to continue with the dynamics of the adoption process of these animals, which had stopped due to the physical of the place.

According to Jonathan Salazar, coordinator of the Municipal Animal shelter, the recovery of the shelter will comprise two phases; the maintenance was the first involving 130 soldiers and 70 students in charge of welding and work on the green areas. The second phase will be held next week, where a park will be conditioned to reduce the stress levels of the cats and dogs, as well as the lifting of paddocks for horses.
