Security and defense operations conducted by the National Army led in recent hours to strike a blow against the members of the GAO residual structure, with the capture of three people, accused of rebellion and extortion in the department of Arauca.
The first military operation was carried out in the village El Progreso, in the municipality of Tame, where alias “Carolina” was captured. She had in her possession a nickel-plated pistol without a serial or a brand, a magazine and eight 9-mm cartridges, proselytizing material and allusive pamphlets to that criminal structure. So she was taken by authorities and will have to face charges of rebellion.
The second military operation was carried out in the same municipality where two individuals known by the aliases “Franklin” and “Veneco”, 27 and 30, were captured in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police.
These individuals were caught in flagrante delicto just at the time they received $ 1,000,000 pesos resulting from extortion against a local merchant, who tired of the constant intimidation through telephone calls on behalf of the GAO Residual “first” structure, denounced the situation .
