National Army conducted medical evacuation of minor who received his prosthesis

ayuda.jpg

Under the guidelines of the program Fe en Colombia, units of the National Army in Bucaramanga, in the department of Santander, carried out a humanitarian operation. They transported a minor of age from Santa Rosa, in the south of the department of Bolívar, who, due to a fire caused by a home accident in May of the previous year, lost both legs.

Thanks to the arrangements conducted by the command of this unit, the Mica Foundation and the University Hospital of Santander, Diego, the minor injured, could receive their prostheses with which, again and in less than a year of the tragic event, he will be independent again.

For his mother, who has suffered not only the recovery process of her son, but in the same way the loss of her five-year-old daughter in those same events, the support received by the Bicentenary Heroes of the Fifth Brigade has been important, because the soldiers have made a constant accompaniment and brought more institutions to complement this good cause, to return the illusion and will to live of this family.

On the other hand, Diego's treatment in the prosthetics workshop of the University Hospital will be to adapt to his prostheses, which for now will be short, but made of imported materials of high quality, little by little, he will get into the final prostheses that fit his age, height and shape.
