Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Fifth Division of the National Army, in a coordinated work with the Specialized Directorate Against Drug Trafficking of the Attorney General's Office and the Drug Control Administration, DEA, arrested 11 alleged members of the Organized Gang La Cordillera, requested for extradition by the United States.

Thanks to the investigative work of the Prosecutor's Office and with military intelligence information, the individuals were captured during raids carried out in Pereira and Dos Quebradas (Risaralda), Cali (Valle del Cauca), Medellín (Antioquia) and Madrid (Cundinamarca).

The people arrested by court order were charged with the crimes of association to commit crimes and trafficking in illicit drugs, within the current indictment process in a United States district court.

With this coordinated and interagency operation, the illegal finances of organized crime groups that commit crimes in different regions of the country are hit.
