Thanks to intelligence reports, the Twenty-Seventh Rainforest Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Air Force and the National Police, managed to arrest several members of the Comandos de Frontera at the scene.
Through intense intelligence work, soldiers of the 22nd Ground Operations Battalion fought in the village of San Andr茅s, municipality of Puerto Caicedo, Putumayo, against members of the 48th Front of the Comandos de Frontera, which led to the arrest of three people, including a woman.
The military operation called O'connor was carried out thanks to the joint intelligence work of Colombian National Army and the National Police. During the confrontation, the superior training of the soldiers led to the surrender of the insurgents without major difficulties.
The military operations concluded with the arrest of three people and the finding of several items: nine units of combat equipment, 14 awnings, 18 hammocks, 19 sweatshirts, eight towels, a poncho, a first aid kit, two chargers and a radio battery, a communications equipment and more than a thousand gallons of diesel, a precursor used for the production of coca base paste. Both the arrested and the material were put into custody of the authorities.
