According to military intelligence, once processed the drug it was marketed abroad. In 2020 three cocaine laboratories for the production of cocaine hydrochloride and 43 illegal caches have been destroyed under controlled conditions.
Troops of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade, in the framework of Operation Jos茅 Inocencio Chinc谩, under the guidelines of the Bicentenary plan Heroes Of Freedom, in a joint work with the National Navy, the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the National Police, destroy two laboratories used by the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Estructura Primera, for the production of cocaine hydrochloride.
In the military operation carried out in the hamlets Puerto Nare and Sabanas de La Fuga, in the municipality of San Jos茅 del Guaviare, after exhaustive searches of the area and according to the intelligence information provided, several large structures were found by troops, which, in addition to produce the drug, had been damaging the ecosystem with chemical residues.
In these places, 316 gallons of coca base in process, 505 gallons of liquid precursors and 101 kilograms of solid precursors were found and destroyed, in addition to several microwave ovens, electricity generators, washing machines, electric pumps and other machinery for the production of narcotic drugs, which were intended to be transported by strategic routes to the borders of southern Colombia, taking into account that abroad the value of the drug is increasing.
It is noteworthy that, in the vicinity of one of the laboratories, there was another wooden structure that was used as an illegal hiding place, where more than 1000 kilograms of solid precursors were destroyed.
These cocaine laboratories cost more than 200 million pesos and had the capacity to produce more than one and a half tons of cocaine hydrochloride per month, which would cost about 8000 million pesos.
