National Army finds clandestine hideout with 1,245 explosive devices in Meta

To date, units of the National Army have destroyed more than 1,800 explosive devices in the department of Meta, which guarantees the well-being and free movement of civilians and the Security forces.

Troops of the Seventh Brigade, of the Fourth Division of the National Army, found a hideout with abundant war material and explosives belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Seventh Structure.

The event occurred in the hamlet Parques, in the municipality of Vistahermosa, in Meta. In that place, the soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No. 21 Batalla del Pantano de Vargas and the Marte Group found 1,245 improvised explosive devices, with a command cable activation system, 480 containers for the manufacture of explosive devices and 2 mortar-type launching means .

According to military intelligence, it could be determined that the GAO-r E-7 (Structure 7) was coordinating the procurement, transportation and storage of this type of explosives.

The material was destroyed under controlled conditions, with the help of anti-explosive military technicians and in compliance with all environmental protection protocols.

On the area the troops continue the operations, with the purpose of finding the terrorists who would be the owners of the devices to capture them and put them into custody of the authority.

This finding reveals a clear violation of human rights and a violation of international humanitarian law, given that these explosive devices are illicitly manufactured to indiscriminately attack on the inhabitants and the Security forces.
