Thanks to military operations carried out by soldiers of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, in coordination with the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Police, 1,255 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops in the department of Nariño.
This blow to drug trafficking represents a damage of 17,565 million pesos, equivalent to 4.2 million dollars, to the illicit activities of illegal armed groups and criminal structures that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific.
In the first operation, the troops found and dismantled a clandestine laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in a rural area of the municipality of Santa Cruz de Guachavés, which had been conditioned by members of the group José Luis Cabrera Ruales, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
Inside they found 355 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 2300 gallons of this drug in solution, equivalent to 2,176 kilograms of the alkaloid, 500 gallons of coca base, 1,423 gallons of liquid supplies and 140 kilograms of solid supplies, in addition to machinery and equipment used for the manufacture of the narcotic.
On the other hand, in the village of Alto Mira, in the municipality of Tumaco, soldiers of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Battalion No. 4, found an illegal hideout with 900 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, belonging to the Oliver Sinisterra Substructure, of the residual organized armed group.
The production of alkaloids in rustic structures such as clandestine laboratories continues to cause serious environmental damage and contaminates water sources with highly toxic chemicals.
Colombian National Army maintains coordinated operations throughout the country, with the mission of neutralizing the illicit activities of drug trafficking, hitting the finances of illegal armed groups and contributing to the protection of the environment, fauna, flora and water sources, essential for human consumption.
