The municipality of Apartad贸, in the northwest of Antioquia, currently reports 99 events and 44 victims of antipersonnel mines, of which 33 are members of the Military Forces and 11 are civilians, including a minor.

Since 27 October 2021, men of the Humanitarian Demining Engineer Battalion No.6, began operations using the manual demining technique and are currently working in three areas that may be hit by antipersonnel mines.

There are 30,000 square meters on which 130 mine clearance specialists work to present pollution-free lands.

In addition to clearing the land, soldiers have provided first aid to 21 people in need of basic care. Among the beneficiaries are pregnant mothers, newborns and older adults who were in the same way helped for evacuation to care centers.

In this way, the institutional commitment of the demining soldiers to the wellbeing of the society that lives in each of the areas where they work is ratified.
