The device was in a wooded area of the village El Cobre.
Within the framework of operations and in order to safeguard the life and good physical condition of the community, soldiers of Colombian National Army found and destroyed in controlled conditions an improvised explosive device in the municipality of Convención, Norte de Santander.
Thanks to intelligence information, the military of the Vulcano Task Force reached the village of El Cobre, where a 40-kilo cylinder with explosive and shrapnel was found. The device was in the middle of a wooded area.
Once the area was secured, the military of the group of experts in explosives and demolitions, EXDE, destroyed the device in controlled conditions without causing damages to the people or the military.
