The initiative 'Plan Verde' arose of the need to improve rural and urban environments, as well as the recovery of the environment with the planting of more than 2,000 trees.

The Bicentenary Heroes of the Military Police Battalion No.15, attached to the 13th Brigade of the National Army with the support of the social leaders and inhabitants of the sector, conducted an environmental activity where more than 700 trees were planted in the Turingia neighborhood in the locality of Suba, northwestern Bogota.

In the same way, armed with shovels and hoes, the soldiers of the Machined Cavalry Group No.10 'Tequendama' and the indigenous community Muisca of Cota in Cundinamarca, came to the municipality of Cota to carry out the massive planting of 1,700 trees of different types in 67 environmental hectares of La Montaña de la Cueva de los Zorros sector, with the main purpose of recovering the environmental route and thus improving the natural and environmental wealth of the reserve.

Similarly, in the village of Boita, in the municipality of Sesquilé, in Cundinamarca, troops of this tactical unit, carried out a cleaning and beautification activity in the surroundings of the park of this sector, in order to strengthen the environmental conditions of the ecosystem, cataloged as of utmost importance to the community.
