National Army provides humanitarian transport to two victims of anti-personnel mines

In Military Area Control Operations, troops of the National Army in coordination with the National Police transported in a timely manner by air two people who activated a minefield in the municipality of Las Mercedes, Municipality of Sardinata, Norte de Santander.

 

Thanks to the timely information provided by the Secretary of Government of the municipality and the President of the Community action Board of the municipality La Reforma, the Army conducted the aeromedical evacuation of the two people, who were victims of these non-conventional weapons planted by Organized Armed Groups who commit crimes in the region.

 

In the same way, it should be noted that one of them suffered amputation of the right leg and the other person has splinters on his back and buttocks. The National Army arranged the air transport for their evacuation and in the same way for them to be assisted in a hospital in the city of C煤cuta.

 

It is important to highlight that the National Army denounces this violation of International Humanitarian Law and the violation of the Ottawa Convention. While ratifying the commitment of the frontal fight against the organized armed groups that perpetrate drug trafficking to finance these terrorist acts.
